Welcome back to Dollar Store Decadence recipes, where we cook amazing food made almost entirely with gems we find at the dollar store. This time we’re making super delicious turkey burgers! All items came from the 99 Cents Only Store besides the ground turkey and parsely (this was still 99¢ though). I purchased those at Northgate Gonzalez Market. The Margarine, Salt and Pepper, and Garlic Powder are staples in my house. But they can all be bought at the 99. I found this recipe here.
What you need:
1 lb. Ground Turkey
1 Red Onion, chopped
1/2 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tsp each Salt and Pepper
1 Tbsp Butter or Margarine
1 Pack of Hamburger Buns
This is where you really have to pay attention because it’s very complicated. Hold on to your butts…
- Mix everything together.
- Shape your mixture into 6 patties
- Cook however you prefer, you can grill, bake or pan fry these. I prefer grilled or pan-fried myself.
- I like to toast my buns, so you can put a little bit of butter or margarine on them and stick them onto a hot skillet.
- Optional toppings include BBQ Sauce (my fave), Ketchup, Lettuce, Cheese
Let’s talk Turkey (Burgers)
The ground turkey came from Northgate as uzh – $3.99
The red onion was from a bag of at least 4 – 25¢
The parsley was also bought at Northgate for 99¢. I used about half – 50¢
The hambuger buns were from the 99 – 75¢
Total for these burgers is $5.49. Since we made six of them, that means this meal was $0.91 per serving. Less than a dollar! Pow! Of course you can eat these with whatever you want. I usually make fries to go with them. All you would need is potatoes (from the 99) and vegetable oil to fry them. So you could add maybe 25¢ per person to that if you like fries with your burger like we do at my house. It would still come out to $1.19 per person. Super nice!
