I’m Convinced I can Clean Anything w/Vinegar, Baking Soda, Lemon and/or Dish liquid

I’ve been on this kick lately where I like to google how to clean things with products I have at home and the recurring items are Vinegar, Baking Soda, Lemon, and Dish Liquid and what do all of these guys have in common you ask?  Hold on to your butts….

THEY CAN ALL BE FOUND AT DOLLAR STORES!

Okay here we go, I’m gonna link to the full articles I wrote for some of these but also just give you the tl;dr version here.

To Clean Your Grimy Garbage Disposal:

Vinegar, Baking Soda, Lemon

You’ll also need salt and ice, items that are also found at dollar stores.  First you put your baking soda and vinegar into the disposal, let it sit a few minutes, then  you pour in some boiling water, fill the disposal with ice and salt and run the cold water and the disposal until the ice is gone.  Finally, throw half a lemon in and run the disposal.  Et voila!  A clean, great smelling disposal.

To Clean Your Crusty Drip Pans and Grates:

Dish Liquid, Baking Soda

This is easy peasy, lemon squeezy.  Take your drip pans and grates out. Rinse them with water (you’ll be surprised how much grime comes off) Mix 1 Cup dish liquid with 1 Cup baking soda, it should be kinda pasty.  Slather it all over your grates and pans, scrub a bit to break up some of the excess.  Let them sit for at least and hour (in a plastic bag, I used grocery bags) and then scrub them clean.  Too easy.

To Clean Your Soap Scummy Shower:

Vinegar, Dish Liquid

Just mix these two guys together at a 1:1 ration and spray your shower down.  Let it sit for at least 15 minutes and then scrub a dub dub, no more soap scum and you’ll have a super clean shower.

To Clean Your Gross Microwave:

Vinegar or Lemon

What you want to do here is put about 1/2 cup water into a microwaveable bowl, then add either 5-6 tablespoons of lemon juice OR 3 tablespoons of vinegar.  Microwave your mixture on high for 5 minutes. Leave the microwave closed for an additional 5 minutes, to let the steam work in there.  Once you open it, you can clean it out easily with a paper towel or dish rag.  Super nice, right?

To Get the Mildew Smell Out of Clothes:

Vinegar, Baking Soda

If you washed a load of clothes and forgot them in the washing machine and they have that horrible mildew stench, this is easily fixable with 1 Cup of vinegar and a sprinkle of baking soda.  Do not add more detergent, only the vinegar and baking soda.  Your clothes will come out fresh!
So try these out and let me know!
